How to Get the Perfect Skin – Daily Routine

Taking care of your skin is all about balancing a variety of habits and making sure that you are consistent with your skin care regimen. However, it is important for you to know your skin type in order to know what works best for you. Therefore, before you can create the perfect skin care regimen, you will need to understand your skin type. The five general skin types are: combination, dry, normal, oily, and sensitive skin.

Combination skin displays the presence of two or more of the five general skin types. Generally, the skin is often oily in the T-zone, while other parts of the face may be excessively dry.

Dry skin is a common skin condition that can occur at any age. The skin appears to be dehydrated, inflamed, irritated, and peeled. There may be certain parts of the face that have patches of dry skin. You will also notice small, invisible pores.

Normal skin exhibits a good balance of moisture, small visible pores, and an even tone. With this skin type one may have minor blemishes. However, the skin texture is smooth.

Oily skin experience quite a bit of too much shine and it is common to struggle with acne breakouts. Due to oily skin the pores may seem larger and you may find yourself having to reapply your makeup through the day because of the excessive oil.

Sensitive Skin may show any of the conditions from the other four general skin types, however, with added sensitivity. Due to the skin being more sensitive they may be more vulnerable to the products that they use for their skin care.

Morning Routine for Perfect Skin

A solid morning routine is just as crucial as a nighttime routine. However, your morning skin care routine typically depends on your skin type. I have been using this routine for the past couple of years and it has yet to fail me. Below I have listed the steps I use for my morning routine. Additionally, you may incorporate more steps as you find necessary for your skin type.

Step 1: Cleansing oil – This is mainly to wash off the oil-based products that you use at night. This is an absolute must in my perfect skin regime. Using an oil cleanse in the morning will effectively lift away those products used and whatever else is on the skin’s surface from overnight. Make sure to rinse with lukewarm water.

Step 2: Water-Based Cleanser – Using a product that has a low-PH water-based cleaner is crucial for your morning routine. A water-based cleanser will properly deep clean without causing redness to your skin prior to your makeup application. You have to prep your skin before you apply your makeup in order for it to go on smooth.

Step 3: Toner – Is a great step to add to your morning routine to maintain your skin clear and healthy. Furthermore, toner is a crucial step for those who have oily skin and are acne prone. A good toner will balance your skin’s PH which is intended to hydrate your skin.

Step 4: Serum – The more I’ve researched what to apply to my skin care routine I realized the importance of this step. It may be the most important and probably most expensive because aside from the sun protection, it is an antioxidant-rich serum. If you think about it, your face is up against a lot of germs that wish to do harm to it throughout the day.

Step 5: Moisturizer – This step is probably the major key to healthy skin. However, moisturizers don’t actually moisturize, they just lock it in. Also, you should never use your sunscreen as a substitute for your moisturizer. The two serve a different but crucial purpose in attaining the perfect skin care routine.

Step 6: Sun Protection – the benefit of using a product with sunscreen is that it protects your skin from the sun’s harmful ultraviolet rays, UVA and UVB rays. Whichever product you use make sure it has an of SPF15 or SPF30 in order to protect your skin.

Step 7: Primer – This is an optional step if you aren’t planning on applying any pigmented products after you apply your sun protection. Using a primer will give your foundation a more flawless application.

Pre-Workout Routine

For the ladies who incorporate a workout routine to their schedule it is important to remove your makeup from the skin’s surface to prevent the obstruction of your pores from sweat, oil, and bacteria which have accumulated on your skin.

Post-Workout Routine

After your workout, your skin may be left with more than just perspiration and the build up of oils can lead to serious breakouts immediately. Make sure to wash your face immediately with cool water and your face wash if you do not plan to shower right away.

Nighttime Routine

Your nighttime routine is crucial in getting the perfect skin you want to stay looking healthy and flawless. Below I will discuss the steps that I use every night. You may use these steps or you may incorporate which ever steps you need for your nighttime routine. Furthermore, these are just the steps that have worked for me for the past couple of years.

Step 1: Makeup Removal – It is important for you to remove all of your makeup prior to going to bed. Going to sleep without removing your makeup may lead to breakouts immediately. Make sure you are gentle in removing the makeup around your eye area. Since your eye area is the most sensitive and it is also known as the first area to show aging.

Step 2: Cleanser – You may use the same water-based cleanser that you used in the morning, however, make sure to use a cleanser in your nighttime routine to attain the perfect skin.

Step 3: Toner – Using a toner will help to balancing your skin’s pH and it’s a crucial part of your skin care routine.

Step 4: Serum – For nighttime it is important to use a serum that focuses more on hydration and regeneration.

Step 5: Oil – Applying an oil of your choice will enhance your skin to combat the overproduction of sebum and clogged pores which may lead to breakouts. Depending on your skin type implementing oils may greatly benefit from an additional source of moisture.

Step 6: Night Cream – The final step in your perfect skin nighttime routine should be a cream that will lock in all the products that you have used in steps 1-5.

Conclusion

I hope that my daily routine on how to get the perfect skin will help you establish a routine that works for you. Remember, everyone’s skin is different. What may work for you may not work for the next person. However, it is important to test products to know whether those products work for you.
